Overview

The Wellness Journal ("we," "our," "the site") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We are a small publication. We do not sell your data, we do not build user profiles for advertising, and we do not run behavioral advertising on our site. The information we collect is limited to what is necessary to operate the site and understand how visitors use our articles.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit our site, our web server and analytics tools automatically record certain information, including:

Your IP address, browser type, operating system, and approximate location (city or region level, not precise). The pages you visit on our site and the time you spend on each page. The referring site or search engine that brought you to us. Whether you clicked through to any of our affiliate links.

This information is used in aggregate to understand how our content is performing and how we might improve it. We do not use this information to identify you as an individual.

Cookies and tracking

Our site uses cookies for the following purposes:

Analytics cookies help us count visitors and understand which articles are being read. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is designed to collect aggregate information without building personal profiles.

Microsoft UET tag — if you arrived at this site via a Microsoft Ads advertisement, your visit may be logged against our advertising campaign for conversion reporting. This tag does not identify you personally; it tracks anonymous conversion events.

Affiliate tracking cookies — when you click on an affiliate link on our site, the destination site may set a cookie to track that we referred you. This cookie is set by the destination company, not by us, and is governed by their privacy policy.

You can disable cookies in your browser at any time. Disabling cookies may limit some site functionality but will not prevent you from reading our articles.

Information you provide directly

If you email us through our contact page, we will have whatever information you include in your email — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this information only to respond to you. We do not add email addresses from contact messages to any mailing list.

We do not currently operate a newsletter, mailing list, user accounts, or comment system. If this changes, this policy will be updated.

How we use your information

We use the information collected for the following purposes: to operate and improve the site, to respond to your messages, to understand which articles are useful to readers, to report on advertising campaign performance (in aggregate), and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described in this policy or as required by law.

Third-party services we use

Our site uses the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

Cloudflare — for hosting, security, and analytics. Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

Google Fonts — for typography. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Microsoft Advertising (UET tag) — for advertising conversion tracking. Microsoft's privacy policy: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement

When you click on an affiliate link, you leave our site and enter the site of the destination company. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those companies.

Children's privacy

The Wellness Journal is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. EU and UK residents have rights under the GDPR.

Because we do not maintain user accounts or identified user records, in most cases we have nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have a specific request, please contact us at the email address on our contact page and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect the limited information we do collect. The site is served over HTTPS. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) maintains modern security practices. We cannot, however, guarantee absolute security of any data transmitted over the internet.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, if the change is significant, note it on our homepage. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
